His books include The Option of Urbanism (Island), Strategic Planning for Real Estate Companies (ULI) and chapters in 17 other books, most recently, Suburban Remix: Creating the Next Generation of Urban Places (Island Press), Companion to Real Estate Development (Routledge) and New Urbanism and Beyond (Rizzoli). He has written for the Atlantic, New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Nation, Washington Monthly, American Conservative, Urban Land, among other publications. He has been profiled by NPR’s All Things Considered and Marketplace, CNN, Washington Post, among others.

Mr. Leinberger was named as one of The 100 Most Influential Urbanists of all time in a 2017 Planetizen poll.

He is a graduate of Swarthmore College, Coro Foundation Fellowship Program, and Harvard Business School. He and his wife live in Dupont Circle in Washington, DC.
